Perhaps you can avoid the epilogue at the end of the last book. I wish I'd known about the HP one and done the same. I was getting excited about reading the books first - I bet there'll be a lot of copies read now there's a movie, which end up in charity stores afterwards, so it shouldn't be hard for me find one shortly. Katniss looks amazing in the trailers/gifs I've seen and it sounds like I'd enjoy reading about her and identify with her not wanting kids - which would even more of a slap in the face later.
