I'm intrigued by the curse - does Kat have to do something special to invoke it? And it seems to involve Honor and her other guards too.

Kat and Honor reminded me of Richard and Kahlan a bit here - everyone else is so terrified of her power, but he trusts her.

Also it was interesting how at first the crowd was desperate to touch her and be blessed, but then the curse kicks in and they're all terrified and confused.
